What is Whipped Cream?

Whipped cream is made by introducing nitrous oxide (N₂O) or by mechanically whipping it, creating numerous fine air bubbles to make the heavy cream (whipped cream) fluffy, stable, and creamy.

It is used in the dessert, coffee, baking decoration, food service, and beverage industries, and is a common technique in professional kitchens and dessert shops.

Required Tools

Heavy cream (recommended fat content 30%–38%)

Butter frother/whipping machine

N₂O food-grade butter cartridges or large-capacity butter canister

Optional: Powdered sugar, vanilla, chocolate, flavored syrups

  • Step 1: Prepare the Butter Ingredients
    1️⃣ Use chilled heavy cream (for more stable results)
    2️⃣ Pour into the frother, do not exceed 75%–85% of the canister's maximum capacity
    3️⃣ If flavoring is desired, add powdered sugar or vanilla beforehand.
  • Step 2: Install the Cartridge/Canister
    1️⃣ Install the butter cartridge or connect the N₂O butter canister.
    2️⃣ Ensure the connection is sealed tightly.
    3️⃣ A "pop" sound indicates inflation is complete.
  • Step 3: Shake Evenly
    ⚠️ This step is very important. Shake the butter frother evenly up and down for 8–12 seconds. Step 4: Start Whipping
    1️⃣ Point the nozzle towards the area where you want to whip the cream.
    2️⃣ Gently press the handle.
    3️⃣ The cream will spray out smoothly, finely, and steadily.
